What's new with us this week...

It's Preston's birthday on Saturday. So, this makes him the "Spot Light" student in his class. Here is his fun poster we created. (You can click on any picture to make it bigger) This was his spot light poster that was done in the spring for his 1st grade class. I wanted to have a picture of it before he destroyed it by making a big paper air plane out of it. We purchased this property in Salina. It is 3/4 of an acre. We hope to start digging for our new house in about month. We have our blue prints/plans for our house finalized! It is so awesome knowing we will have a house just the way we want it! (Preston has big plans for that big red dirt hill that will be behind our house.)Ellie tried food for her first time. She did not care for it.

Pyper was a bunny for her pre-school Halloween Party. She told me she was going to "Hop down the street!" Then when we were loading in the car she saw a grasshopper and said, "That grass hopper hops just like me!" With a big smile on her face.

Riley got braces. She is excited about it. The last time she had braces it was only on the upper front 4 teeth. Now she will have a mouth full. 8 on the bottom and 6 on the top.

About a month ago Riley was throwing a little bit of a fit. She is not so pretty when she does not get her way. Jon was talking to her in her room and I was nursing Ellie in our room. This is what I heard her yell; "I am 11 years old! That is almost a teenager! You guys need to start treating me like and adult and stop disciplining me!" Sorta funny. I think we are in for a treat! Don't get me wrong, Riley is wonderful! She is a big helper and so much fun when she is her regular self. Her 3 younger siblings just light up when she comes in to the room. We love her!

Ryan and Glenn got to be baptised on the same day. It was a great day for my kids to see two of their cousin's get babtised. Congratulations Ryan and Glenn!

Here we are sitting in the pews for my 2nd cousin Christine's Wedding. She is my cousin Rosemary's daughter. Riley told me after the ceremony was over that there were 7 prayers during the service.On the way home we stopped at the Fremont Indian State Park and Museum. The petroglyphs were awesome! Riley is learning about it in school right now. She even taught me some things I didn't know. We will be going back again soon!

Grandma Patsi made every grandchild a cute Peach Day's parade bag with their name on it to gather candy with!It was so fun hanging out at the parade. I ran in to some great old friends and neighbors. The kids with Grandpa Hendrickson.

I'll be honest. I've had a rough time after this last baby. My brain has turned in to mush! I forgot to take the "first day of school pictures" of Riley and Preston! But, I did get their second day! Jon was even in the shot. I took the first picture and then looked down at the picture and looked back up and they had turned around with their backs to me, laughing. Just being silly. So, I snapped that too! I love how silly my family is. Nothing better then laughing every day!

Aug 20th- Fish Lake Day Trip

This was the last Saturday before school started. We went up to visit my brother David and his family while they were staying in a cabin by Fish Lake. We fished at this private stocked pond with them. It was so beautiful!

I noted before that Preston fell off the dock. The story is this; My brother David threw fish food in to the water to show the kids there were a ton of fish jumping to get the food. Preston got so excited and tried to cast his pole out and threw himself off the dock. Thank goodness Jon was right there and grabbed him by the arm and brought him out of the water. Preston had gone all the way under. So in the picture below he is in my hoody and Aunt Christa's pants. He still has on his winning smile!Pyper said, "This is where Tinker Bell lives!" She also thinks The Little Mermaid lives in Fish Lake. My kids loved hiking around this beautiful place and so did I! Below is Christa, James, Hank and Annie. My brother's good lookin family!

Ellie has been the best natured baby. She laughs and makes happy noises all of the time. She is always willing to give you a smile. She sleeps through the night most nights. She is an all around good baby!

Jon got his gift early because the kids and I were gone to the Hoe Down and UPS happened to come and he was the only one home! Big bummer for me. I did not get to see his face when he opened up the carpet kit for his Land Cruiser. He was very happy though.
Here he and the kids were having a "Birthday Snuggle". Very Cute! Ellie even had some of Riley's hair and did not want to let it go.

Aug 7th, A Name and A Blessing

So many wonderful friends and family came to support and show their love for Ellie and our family. We had the blessing at 9:00 on Sunday morning. Grandpa Douglas Hendrickson preformed the blessing. We had brunch at the park across the street from our home after the blessing. It was a wonderful time. I wish I would have taken pictures of all our group.

My sister Sarah made another cute little blessing bonnet that turns in to a hanky for when she get married. What a wonderful keep sake. Ellie shared Pyper's blessing dress. I hope they will share it with their daughters like Riley's mom in Heaven shared hers with Riley.

Waiting for the Parade to start here in Redmond. They go down the street and turn around and come back! It was great! My kids know how to get the candy! About half way through Pyper decided she had enough candy and sat in her chair and started to eat it. Our wards relief society's float. Very Cheerful!

We had lunch and did the games. Cow Tippin is a fun thing to do here in Redmond!

July 19-22 Lake Powell

This was the fist Lake trip for Ellie. Jon worked so the kids and I went down and stayed at a hotel in Page. We drove to the Lake every morning and drove back to our nice room with A.C. and a shower. Can't say I didn't like that!

The 2 little girls and I went up and joined my dad, David & family, and Nathan & family up camping at Box Creek. We just stayed for the day. It was a really fun time sitting around the fire getting caught in a thunder/raid storm and enjoying some eats! Plus Nathan makes a great Mormon Margarita!
Hank the Tank! Annie, James and Pyper enjoyed exploring around. There was a little dear that stayed close by too. It was very fun for the kids! Aunt Shyloh even joined in on the camping fun! Nathan was telling us a story.

The 4th of July!

The 4th this year was a bit sad for me. Riley & Preston were gone to California with Grandma Katie and Jon was working. Pyper, Ellie and I tried to make the best of it. We went to the Salina City celebrations. Pyper did most of the activities. Here she is going down the big slide. Here she is inside a big bubble! This was very cool! She did this one twice. She played planco, put the ring on the sucker, the measuring tape/ping pong ball game. As you can see she came away with some great prizes! To be honest, I think Ellie mostly just got hot. It was a very hot and humid day! We went to the parade that night. It started at 5:00. A storm was starting to brew. As we were walking to find a place to watch the parade, we ran in to this hot police man working this corner. He let us hang out with him for the parade.
He even helped Pyper get some candy!
Just as the parade was ending the rain and wind kicked in. We made a mad dash to the Yukon and made it just in time.

July 1st - Grandma Katie & Aunt Lacy Visit

Grandma Katie, Aunt Lacy and her cute boys came out to pick up Riley and Preston to take them back to California for a long visit. Here they are watching Preston teach Hyrum some black belt skills! Preston and Hyrum were so funny to watch! Ephrum was wanting to get in to the action and Pyper was dancing around in the new dress Great Grandpa Sargentini had sent out to her.

Then we went out and had somores!

End of June- Laura and her kids visit Utah

They slept in these "tents" made with blankets and chairs in our basement. All of the kids are in the tents so you can't see them! We went to the Nisson Park and played in the ditch. Pyper fell head over hills for Rowen! These two were so cute together!

Ellie hung out with us looking a lot like this most of the time.

Played in the red dirt (aka mud) in Grumpy and Mam's back yard.

Sam really got in to it!

His mom though it was great!It was fun to sit and watch the kids. They got in to a big water fight. That is never a big deal because it is so hot there, you dry in no time.Pyper made good use of her water balloons!

Mamah even got in to the water fight and sprayed everyone, even Ellie! That was mean!

It's always nice sittin on the swing with grumpy! Hank is just laughing!

MaMaw stayed with us for a little while. Since Ellie was 2 weeks late, my mom was here hanging out like the rest of us waiting for her to come so she could take care of us. Here she is on her last day here. She left a bit early this time to be home with my dad. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer and some clogged arteries in his neck. We sure do love her and are always sad when it's time for her to go home!

I was in my room when I heard the yelling, "Get it off of me! Get it off of me!" Pyper had gotten in to the crazy glue and painted herself on both arms and her face. Her arm was even stuck to the desk. Mama and I worked and worked to get it off of her. Found out on line finger nail polish remover is the best to do the job.

My mom has been here since the due date of the baby to help out. So, guess who got a yummy birthday cake for her birthday!? Since I've been married I don't get a cake unless I make it myself. This Sunday after church the sun was warm and it was windy. Perfect to go do a little family kite flying. It just happened that the Easter Bunny left kites for the kids this year. Jon had to work today so we missed him joining us. We invited our neighbors (Rilynn’s family) to come along to the ball field with us. We had blast!

Pyper has been in a singing class with a group of about 8 little girls ages 2-3. She was going every Monday for a half hour. It was the highlight of her week. This past Friday they did their recital. Here she is just before we left. Don't you love our lava rock wall painted white in the background! When it was Pyper's turn to sing her solo, "Me and My Teddy Bear" the little girl on the end was swinging around her bear and accidentally hit Pyper with it. Pyper stopped singing mid-song and starting hitting the little girl back with her teddy bear. Here is the picture I took of it. You can see her bear in mid-swing.

My friend Callie has a little boy named Rilynn who is 4. He and Pyper play so well together. They play house, kill monsters, play at the park, ride their scooters, and fish in the ditch. Pyper calls him "My Rilynn". Rilynn told us when they are 8 they are going to get married. I hope someday they do get married. But let's make it more like when they are 28.

I grew up dancing in the kitchen with my dad. I loved it. Seeing this brought back old memories. It has been so nice with Jon being home more. This was Easter night and Jon was making cookie dough but had to take a quick break when a fun song came on the radio.

Just an update on the Baby Girl of the Belly

I only have 11 days until her due date. We have no name for this girl! Jon and I just can't agree on one. This is a picture of an ultra sound done back at the end of March. I've been measuring a bit small so she has had a couple of extra ultra sounds done. All is well. This pregnancy has been harder then the one with Pyper because I have had cold/cough on top of cold/cough. No energy, no joke! As soon as the morning sickness left me back in January this virus came on and has stayed with me all of this time. It's almost over! Back to this picture below, it is a shot of her head. You can see the hair sticking up! Will she have hair like Pyper and Riley did when they were born? Can't wait to see her!

I took a bunch of pictures of me while I was pregnant with Pyper. This time around I think I notice the flubber a bit more and don't feel quite as glamorous. But, I thought I better take a couple. So, here is what I look like today. Less then two weeks before she is here!They say black is slimming... not sure it helps here?

Easter Sunday

This Easter Jon had to work from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00. P.M. Also, we have church at 9:00. So, we planned on doing the egg hunt after Jon got off work. But, that was way to hard on the kids. So while they were having their Sunday afternoon rest. I called Jon to see if he could take a quick break and come home for the hunt. He was able to.

April 15th: Riley turned 11!

We had a little family party/gift opening before Riley's friends showed up for her Birthday Party/Late over. She scored as always! She even got a new green BMX bike. I found this on a clearance rack in Wal-Mart. I got it as a joke but, I think Riley really loves it! The pants say, "The future Mrs. Justin Bieber".
Nothing better then pizza and soda!

Once again, she wanted cookie dough instead of a cake.

It was great to be there with so much family! She is one special gal! Penny was so good to teach the kids a new game. Mine talk about it all of the time.

Some of the boys started a dog pile on Grandpa Hendrickson. Preston is so lucky to have so many boy cousins around his age. They will be able to play lots of sports together at family functions as they grow up.

April 9th: Pyper's first real hair cut

Grandma Moser gave Pyper a little trim. To be honest, I sorta had a hard time with this. Her hair is not as curly at the ends anymore. It took her being almost 3 years old to let any of it get cut off.

Every time I go back up north I always want to go on a girls night out with my old neighbor friends. We did this one in honor of Rebecca. She is having her first baby boy the end of May. It was a great time as always with these girls. I am always laughing with them!

Some of them also spoiled me with gifts. Sarah made me a beautiful car seat cover. Three of the girls gave me a little box full of things. Some of them are displayed below. Two of them are self explanatory. The "future sister wife" one is because some of us watch the show sister wives and my grandpa was a plig. Also, Jon and I sorta joke around that I have a sister wife in heaven. It's all in good fun. Please no one get offended.

B.B.Q at the Mikkelson's

Pyper and I went down to Southern Utah to see family, go to the Mikkelson's B.B.Q. and see old friends. (Jon had the day off, the older kids were in school and then doing BMX racing. So they stayed behind) The weather was so nice! It was in the 80's the two days we were down there. I needed the sun so badly. I enjoyed sitting in my parents back yard enjoying it all with my family. It was nice to have a girls night out with Patsi and Pam. I am so lucky to have so much great family. I'm spoiled really!

Starr, Parker, Me and Deann. I'll be honest. I've been avoiding this side of the camera. I am 35 weeks pregnant in this shot. My whole body/face is so BIG! Only a month to go and I will start to down size.

At the end of the night it's always nice to snuggle with a grandma.

March 27th - A fun Sunday

I know you all think you have the cutest kids in the world, but come on! Look at these three good lookin kids! Just before church on the front porch of our "new" house. Jon's sister and her family were on their way back from St.George and made a stop to see us. They have 3 beautiful little girls. Here are all of the kids on the top bunk. We loved the visit!

March 18th -Palmers race BMX for the first time!

Pyper loves to sing and pretend (Below she is pretending to be sad). She is also sporting a healing bruise on her head from hitting it on her brother's knee while playing around. Her favorite things to pretend are being a dog and a monster. She loves to hide and jump out and scare us. She just started a little singing class she attends every Monday afternoon. The other day at the park Pyper and two little boys found a worm. They took turns holding it. Then they took the worm down the slide and then put him on the swing and gave him a push. As they pushed him on the swing one boy yelled out, "Look mom this worm is having a good time!"
Riley is taking one on one voice lessons with a great gal named Anne-Marie. She has made many new friends. She got this great new hair cut and wanted me to put a picture of it on here to show everyone. She is an amazing help to me. I don't know what I would do with out her!
The only thing missing from this boy's life are the friends he left behind in Herriman. He has made new friends but misses Jackson and Chase so much! He started Karate a couple weeks ago and is very excited to start racing BMX. At recess the other day Preston was protecting a girl from being choked by another boy when a game had gotten out of hand and the boy lost his temper. The boy said to Preston, "You don't want to mess with a football player!" Preston then told me he said, "You don't want to mess with somebody who knows Karate!" (Preston has had a whole 4 classes) The boy then started to choke Preston. Preston told me he was able to roll him off and push him away. He said the girls started cheering out for him. He then smiled at me and said, "I think they were impressed." Here is the littlest Palmer. She is growing strong and loves to move and kick around. She kept hiding her face with her hands and arms. Then she even brought her feet up to her face. This was the best picture we could get. She is very shy and flexible. (This is a profile picture of her face. Her hand is up resting on her forehead.)

A week ago we went to the local BMX races just to watch. Preston has been wanting to race bikes since he started peddling. Jon did it as a kid and has decided to join Preston and race too. Riley is also going to try it out. The first race they will be entering is this coming Friday. The three of them went out and practiced on their bikes yesterday after Jon got off work. I think it's a great family activity! Pyper, the baby in the belly and I are excited to cheer them on!

Preston came through the door last Thursday holding this paper out to me saying "I'm sorry about this mom." I scan over the paper and this is what I saw:

I asked him why he would write that. He just shrugged his shoulders. I asked him if he had ever done that before. He laughed and said "No!" So, we talked about how it was inappropriate.... and then I explained what inappropriate was after he asked what the word meant. I grounded him for two days and had him write an apology letter to his teacher. Later that night Jon came home. I had him come in our bedroom and shut the door. Full knowing what he was going to do. So, we both laughed together. I told him we had to get it out of our system before he talked to him. After talking with him we decided he is trying to impress a girl (Lexie) who sits next to him.

I started to get sick this weekend. Most of my part of the moving was done. I had packed up the house and I could not lift much being pregnant and all. I can not thank the people enough who helped us pack up. We had about 15 men from our Herriman Ward help load up the UHAULs. Then we contacted our new bishop here in Central Utah and he had 7 men/young men to help us unload when we got to our new home. Jon's parents have been so wonderful! They are probably the sweetest most giving people I know. They have been there along the way helping us pack and move. Even driving a UHAUL down and back for us twice! I love them more then ever. I have been sick with something besides the pregnancy for a month now. I think it's trying to go away now. So, my house still has boxes that need to be unloaded (but only by me!) I will get to them.... someday.

It's off to Salina we go!

Tonight Jon was offered a Police Officer job in Salina, Utah. He took the offer! Now it's time to get packing! It's an exciting yet sad time. I will miss the wonderful family, great neighbors and friends we have around us.

This year for New Years Eve we went over to Jon's parents house. We had another get together that we all could enjoy. Gavin and Troy were in town!

Cute boys! Since this is my last baby, and all of Jon's siblings are done having kids, below are the only Grandsons there will be.
We opened gifts from each other since we knew we would all be together this day.

Jon brought over some fire works. He, Grandpa Moser and most of the grandkids went out side to let them off. They came back in to the house laughing. So it must have been a good time. I sent Riley out with the camera. It was way too cold for me!

We played the Candy Bar game again. Even Great-Grandma Jones joined in this time!

These two gals were out before the party was over. We left Grandma Moser's house and headed home a little after 11:00. Preston really wanted to stay up for the new year. We had to wake him up a couple of minutes before the ball dropped. We had a big family hug and then it was off to bed. What a crazy, wonderful year this was for us! Sure do love my life and family!

Christmas 2010!

Santa, Jon & I did a great job this year. Not a sad kid here Christmas morning. They kids slept in until 7:00. I listened to them upstairs. I loved hearing them all come down the stairs together whispering. Then there was the sweetest little voice saying, "Wake up, it's Christmas morning!" Preston and Riley say they did not prep her for it, that Pyper said it on her own. I was so excited for Christmas this year. I remember waking up at 4:00 A.M. and making myself hurry back to sleep so the morning would come faster.

Pyper opened her pink legos first. Then she was done. All she wanted to do was play with that while everyone else opened up their gifts. I love her sleepy eyes!

I have to say that this has probably been my favorite Christmas thus far. I usually host a Christmas brunch with the Palmer side of the family. This year being aware of my hard pregnancy, my sister-in-law Alicia offered to host. It was a load off. I was smart this time with my pregnancy and did not over plan my life. I took it easy! Because of this I was able to slow down and enjoy life more (when I wasn't throwing up).

I'm not sure who started this one. Jon and Alicia are true brother and sister. They love to tease each other. Jon wants to make sure Alicia knows he is still her big brother or something.

Troy's family was out of town. So, the grandkids that were there posed for a quick picture.

After we were done at Alicia's house, the kids and I headed down to Toquerville for a short trip to avoid any bad weather driving. (Jon had to stay because of work) We had a good time down with the Hendricksons. The grandkids played a ton together. We got some good games in. Even got a high off of the after Christmas shopping I did with the Hendrickson gals. We hit the Washington City Rec Center Pool. Pyper wanted to just move in there. We had a great breakfast and lunch at my moms before heading back home. I'm mad at myself for not taking any pictures while down in Southern Utah.

We had a fun little Christmas Eve Dinner. Corn Dogs and Sparkling Cyder.. can't beat that! Santa was so nice to stop in and say hello to the kids. He brought treats and told the kids to hurry off to bed so he could come back and bring gifts soon! We loved it! They all gave him a hug and Pyper acted like they were old friends. She was not scared one bit.

Went on a Hot Date

It had been so long since Jon and I had been on a date I can't even remember the last time we went. We were just about to go and Riley took these pictures of us. Jon hates getting his picture taken so when ever it happens he makes faces. He keeps me laughing!

So this morning Riley came down stairs and said she was not feeling well still and did not think she should go to school, Preston then came down and said the same thing. We have been sick with colds and sour throats at our house (Poor Jon has a sinus infection). Later that morning Pyper wanted to go play out in the fresh falling snow. I got us ready then Preston and Riley wanted to come out. They seemed to be feeling much better. So, we all went out and played. I would have made Riley and Preston go to school, but lets face it, they are just playing these 2 and 1/2 days until the winter Break. First we went sledding and then we built this little snow man.
Then, Jackson and Alanna came over to play from across the street. These two boys play so well together. It's okay that Preston wont have a brother because he will have Jackson and his two brothers to grow up with.

Old Nisson's closed this November. I stopped in one last time while down for Thanksgiving. I worked here from the age of 15 to the end of high school. Two of my sisters worked here also. I grew up going here for penny candy. It seems like went at least once a week while growing up. Here is Quentin Nisson. One of the sweetest, neatest old men I know. He is 93 now. I gave him a hug goodbye and he kissed me on the cheek. I had to choke back my tears.
Here is a bit of history of the store.In the mail this week I got this wonder print of a painting a lady from my home town of Washington painted. My longtime friend Lacey sent it to me for Christmas. She worked at the 2nd Nisson's grocery store while I worked at the Nisson's V&S store. She said it made her think of me and the good ol'times. Many, many Washington City people are so sad to see this place go. We will miss you Mr. Nisson!

Thanksgiving in Southern Utah

Thanksgiving Dinner!

The next day Carter came in to the bathroom while I was putting on make up. He wanted a little on him, so I helped him out.

On Saturday Riley went to Enterprise with Aunt Shiloh and Uncle Nathan. Preston, Pyper and I went hiking on the red hill. My kids love the red hill.

We always have to get a frozen yogurt from Dixie Nutrition. Yum!

We headed out Sunday along with all the other crazy people. It was a slow drive home in bad weather. It took us almost 10 hours with stops. Normally it takes 4. I am so glad Jon is a great and easy going driver!

We are going north bound, this was on the south bound road on I-15. All of the south bound traffic had been detoured because of this overturned tanker.

My great friend, and across the street neighbor, Sarah (Alanna's mom) had her baby boy while we were evacuated. They named him Blaze! I love it!

Sept 19th THE FIRE!

We were at the church this day until about 3:30. When we were driving home we saw smoke from the mountain we live up against. It was quite a ways away, and we decided not to worry too much.

We turned on the TV and saw the picture below. Jon told me not to worry, it probably would not get too close to us. So, we deiced to go on to Sandy where there was a family dinner being held. I spoke with our next door neighbor and said if it got closer to give us a call. At about 8:00 PM she called and said it's getting pretty bad. We headed home and could not believe what we were seeing from the freeway as we drove home. It was like a lava flow of flames down our mountain.

When we got closer we could see everyone out on the streets watching or packing up. I asked Jon if we should go to his moms. He still did not think we had anything to worry about. Riley started to cry. I told him I was going to take the kids and go to his moms. At 9:00 PM we got the evacuation call on the phone. Now Jon was going to come with us. I still was not too worried. Only got a days worth of clothes for the kids and I.

I got the kids to Grandma Mosers. Jon stayed behind to load our R.V. and the ATV along with other items. As I watched the news and neighbors posted pictures and described what they were seeing I started to get so scared. It was 12:00 AM. Jon along with other men on our street were staying behind to watch the show. I called him and begged him to get over to his moms. He said he was on the way that they would not let him go back into the house anymore. When he arrived we talked about how he knew we would not have our house the next morning. The wind was blowing so badly, they could not control the fire. I was thinking about all of the things I should have grabbed. I was also so sick and tired from being pregnant. I did not sleep a wink that night.

I could not wait for the morning to come. At 7:30 A.M. on Sept 20th, the news did a live broadcast of the view from the helicopter. This is what I saw:

The fire had gone right to our back yard, but our house was still there. We were evacuated for a total of 3 days before they let us back home. It was a very long 3 days for me.Reasons why our house did not burn: The wind changed at 3:00 AM. The guy below drove a bulldozer and made a fire break just behind all of our homes as firefighters sprayed him down with a hose. The fire fighters did an awesome job fighting the fire. Lots of prayers.

The fire fighters came by to try and straighten out the bulldozed hill. It is quite the rocky mess behind our house. They also reseeded our hill. In a couple of years it will be green and beautiful again.

Talk about unexpected! This baby is due May 4th 2011. My Dr. has told me twice it is meant to be. It took me a bit to come around but, I'm there. Just glad this is the last time I will have the flu for 5 months in a row. My poor family for having to put up with me! Pyper saw me throw up one time and said, "Mommy Yucky!" I agree. She did ask me if I were okay another time and patted my back.
